I watched the episodes on Disney XD and I was pleasenly surprised. My children were able to watch and enjoy the show though it was in an albeit altered way from the original anime. I am a 34 year old woman, I read the manga, and watch the latest Japanese anime here on Naruto.com and I was satisfied. Having the show on TV is a good time to bond with my kids and not have to worry too much about inappropriate scenes (that I block them from seeing in the Japanese anime anyway). I think a true fan can appreciate the art and storytelling in any medicum it is presented in, that's why so many people around the world love Naruto. I have a preference for the Japanese anime because of all the nuances it has but I like the english dubbed, too. I'm going to keep on watching it on Dinsey XD. It's a better altenative to not having it on TV at all or watching any other show on Wednesdays at 8:30. Besides, if Cartoon Network had appreciated Naruto and the fans the show has it would have fought more vigourously to keep the show on their network. That's their error and VIZ has provided several outlets for many, if not all fans to keep up with Naruto. Like I said earlier...I am satisfied.

Wow, I didn't see the beginning of it but they skipped the part where Sasuke and Naruto meet and he pulls out his sword. Wow...Now thats pathetic. No offense guys I love the show and I'm a very loyal Naruto fan, but I think it would have been better off on CN or even Nickelodeon because on that show, they aren't afraid to have the characters say threats and they aren't afraid to show injuries and they won't cut out major scenes (on the first episode it seemed like Sasuke could see the Nine-Tailed Fox randomly and for no reason when uncut Sasuke took out his blade and stabbed Naruto and it didn't even show it all so even uncut shows have limits. It didn't even show Sasuke grabbing his sword on Disney and that made the plot for that portion of the show dangerously awkward.) The only thing they would have cut out would be the swearing and the excessive blood which Disney XD would express extreme censorship towards it. Sorry VIZ but I think you screwed yourselves over with putting Naruto on a show like Disney. However, I wish you all the best.

The show wasn't that bad. besides the blood and stuff like that. though a little diappointed about the Deidara vs Gaara part. But be glad IT'S ON TV!!! Watched the first 5 minutes of Naruto Shippuden on Disney, I wanted to throw my remote controller at the tv. They took the blood and cussing out of it. And they all sound like their on something. Deidara oh my god sounded stupid. I love the japanese voices better. I mean I love Naruto I mean LOVE Naruto but please, please, please just take it off of the tv. Guys, you're all overreacting. What we'll see on Disney XD is exactly what we would have seen on Cartoon Network. Fact is, this is the edited version made by Viz Media. Cartoon Network didn't want it, Adult Swim didn't want it, but Disney XD took it. = Be happy it's on TV at all.

First of all, why the FLIP would you take a show that you know is violence oriented, that it is about ninjas, and normally has a dramatic plot… Why would they intentionally do that? Viz’s ratings are going to go down, money is going to be lost, parents are going to get mad at Disney, and Naruto will go down the tube in america forever. The only thing we can do now is buy the manga, uncut box sets, shoen jump, and video games like heck. That is the only way that Naruto can possibly survive in america now.
Who's with me people? We predicted that Disney would screw up... now we have to expect the worst for naruto. As Kakashi said, 'Ignoring something this fishy is a good first step to being caught unprepared.'

I personally enjoyed it, i mean come on its disney so yeah ya gotta go in prepared for no blood or cursing, the only difference from the cn version is that they changed sexy to hottie, who gives a damn, its a move he never uses in shippuuden, we still have the uncut dvds, and cn turned down shippuuden, at least its back on tv so now I can watch the episodes more frequently than 4 episodes every two months, while i agree this show would of gotten more publicity on CN, I'm perfectly cool with it on Disney, it wasn't bad at all,saying hottie instead of sexy, and taking out some unnecessary death scenes for GUARDS!!, is just not enough for me to hate Viz for doing what we all wanted, which was put Naruto back on the air

I watched it........ And it is as I said, nothing more then a pittiful cancer of itself. It was discussting how badly disney hacked it up. I literally cried at how pathetic it was. The only english dub I'm going to watch is on another website, that I may not mention, as it is uncensored in english dub.

Hey I watched it am am not too dissapointed we all knew it was gonna be cut Alot but I think the best you can do is keep watching the Japanese version and watching this too so you can see the difference but still see it in English too or buy the DVDS. At least younger kids will grow to love Naruto too

I've already watched it...it sucked. I don't mean to be rude or anything; but really? Every five minutes there was a commercial. Your work was great, but Disney -- no. Please change it to Cartoon Network or better yet, AdultSwim. I have many friends and family who watch Naruto. But they all(literally) Changed the channel after the first episode because of the way it was aired. I am a very big fan of your work, but now I am taking back my complements. Please, you can air Naruto on AdultSwim/cartoon network while having it still on Disney-XD. I promise I'll watch it. (Just not on Disney)

Makers of Naruto.. i love your show, heck ive watched 133 naruto shippuden episodes in japanese and read all 469 manga stories and all.. BUT!! Will you please listen to your fans and change the show to a different channel. DisneyXD is for 6 and 7 year olds. I'm glad it's back on TV, but it just doesn't feel the same when it's in Disney XD. Naruto was so perfect being on Cartoon Network.
Honestly, they couldn't say 'kill', they had to say 'defeat'. Well, at least he said, 'You have to destroy him', after that. I'm not one of those kids that like shows only because they're violent, which is a really dumb reason to like a show, I like them for the plot. The violence, drug usage, and profanity make it more realistic. Naruto isn't some goody-goody show. It has mature themes and it should not have been put on a kid's network. I'm just really disappointed in Cartoon Network...Jetstream broke down altogether, and that's what basically made that channel. They should have aired Naruto on there, it would have given the channel really high ratings with it being so popular, and let's face it, the channel kind of sucks now. And what the heck is up with the new episode being every Wednesday?
I liked looking forward to every Saturday!
But really, either they should keep in all of the stuff, and give it a higher rating like TV-14, or just take it and move it to another channel. =/ Naruto's my most favorite anime. I don't want to to be destroyed by some silly channel.

I myself personally, never bothered to give it a chance because I knew that it was going to suck anyway. I've resorted to watching it online and I'm happy with that decision. i have been a long fan of naruto and naruto shippuden; and have been in constant wait for the dub version of shippuden; so let me tell you this: you have done three seriously hanious actions to long-time, commited fans of the francises.

1)airing the series on Disney XD

not all people have this channel on their cable services. this strategy is very unwise as you have a smaller pool af viewers then with cartoon network or adult swim.also,the diney version is,forgive the term,f**ked up(again sorry).the scripts of the dubbed version are so altered from the original scripts, that it can be another naruto series altogether.i know, as it IS disney, that changes were apparent,but to edit the diolog so thoroughly is unbearable to those who have seen the japenese subtitled version;even on this very site.and lastly about disney, the dubbed series is so butchered and omited, that even scenes applauded by those who watched the sub were completely removed.i knew most blood and sexual references were to be gone, but to scrutinse the show cruely is unparalleled.YOU WILL LOSE DIEHARD FANS.

2)Examine your outher broadcasting options

as in the title, you certainly could have chosen another,A better, channel to air shippuden.i am aware that negotiating the cost of broadcasting can effect your choice,but when the final product of the 1st episode was finished, you should have realised that you could have made a wiser choice on the broadcasting channel,to mave a better final product. as many others have said, they,as well as i, felt betrayed as the series became so altered.

IT IS NOT TO LATE TO CHANGE THIS.or, at least. to make a version that reflects the series orginal version more exact.you can air a version that can be for disney(to satisfy younger audiences),and on that will make those who know of the japenese version applaud your hard work; which you have done enough arlready.this can and proubly will be abit srainous,but to give fan the quality which you are renowned for will be abundantly rewarded;that is most surely so.so please think of a wiser choice,maybe cartoon network(or the more adulterated Adult Swim) or SyFy's AniMonday program will let their broadcast show a better Naruto Shippuden.

3)going through this process without proper consideration

this will sum up things refering back to 1&2:
you may have guess on the amont of negative feedback on the broadcast,bust as the series goes further on, revealing more omitations,the series can lose much,nearly all of it's original american fanbase.you may to even cancel the the american broadcast due to loss of sales,or you would have to avert to primarly selling dvds of the uncut series. the american audiance might even create boycotts of the dubbed version.you,as a buisiness, do not want that.the idea near the end of the secon issue could resolve this.you might even consider kepping the second broadcast,while dropping the former. i,as well as many others, are considerably resonable. if you can improve an your mistakes,you will be given; however, if you keep continually repeating them, are trust and interest can go elsewhere.

please, as a buisness person,and as a friend of the francise,and as a anime fan,listen to your fans.your people who enjoy your work with love and respect for your art.they have been there for you for over 2 years.they Will Not Abandon You.

Well I watched Disney XD ruin Naruto Shippuden. Naruto should never be shown on some little kids network. It is a violent bloody and swear show. When I watched it on Disney XD they didn't even say the word Kill WTF?! and there voices still kinda of sound like kid voices for Pete's sake there 15 or 16 years old this show shouldn't be aired on a little kids network it should be aired on Adult Swim where they let some swear words and show blood and actually say the word kill. I really hope people understand that what airs on Disney XD is not the decision of VIZ Media, but Disney to have all the edits that they do. Remember when Naruto aired of CN they mostly edited out only swearing and some of the gorier scenes. It's a shame because despite what haters say, the English Dub of Naruto is really quite good and VIZ does a great job keeping the show faithful to the original. (Sigh) It's edits like this that give anime English dubs a bad (F%$K YOU 4KIDS)

I was bracing myself for heavy editing... but not this heavy. I can hardly imagine what the Sasuke-Orochimaru fight (one of my favorite parts from Shippuden) will turn out like. Maybe Deidara will just go on a very long vacation or something, because if the simple act of drawing a sword is worth editing out, imagine what's going to happen in a scene where someone turns himself into an organic nuke... (another great scene)

The facted that they would change the concept of death in shippuden is insane. well i gave it a chance, and saw the show. To see if disney would air it like bleach with tv-14 rating. but unfortunately like most of us predicted happened. They edited out everthing!! as the ppl b4 me posted, they replace the sexy/pervy jutsu with hottie jutsu?! and even the animation in that scene was edited. Disney had a huge cloud drawn over konohamuru sexy jutsu. so all you saw were girl's ankles and face?? whats so sexy/hottie about that!!! NO blood, in any scene.. for instance, when sasori's spy murders and massacres the whole squad. there is a big pool of blood and his face is also covered in it,they (disney) dont even show it. Some scenes are cut out in general. Like diedra first attack with those spider like bommbs that jump on the guards faces. In the uncut he actually blows up each one of their faces off!!! WAY COOL!!!! any way .Disney completey skip it!! they cant even say kill..?????how lame is that. i bet in the future they wont be able to say liquor or sake. and how are they going to be able to show the most recent episodes, where the openings are much more action packed and theres alot of blood shown.(i say check it out, its ep. 132, GREAT OPENING)ne way sorry to get off topic. but im very disappointed in disney, and dont like where they r taking it too,... its not same.. i hope disney only brought the rights to show like 30 or 40 episodes, then sum other tv channel can pick it up. so i say keep supporting and BUYING the DVDS when they come out, and watch them this way , instead of watching it on the disney channel.. to let them know theres a huge following of fans that dont want it on disney or any other tv channel that would butcher or edit and take things away from the original. thank you for listening.... I'm sorry... I watched it... I gave it a shot... honestly. It sucked. Uncut boxed sets here i come. I mean HONESTLY!!! Hottie jutsu? Destroy your best friend? Not an ounce of blood! I got my parents in there because i was so excited. I was looking forward to this like Christmas. And what do they do to it? By the end of episode 2 my mom went to bed. And my dad was playing on his computer most of the time. They showed no action and the sasuke and naruto scene was ruined!!! If they do ANYTHING like this to Kakashi gaiden I'll die! Well,I watched it last night and i think Disney did a pretty good job. Way better than CN. CN was way too inconsistent with the showings. At least we know XD will follow through with the whole show.

come on guys its a kids show, if you were running a company would you make 500 fan boys happy or have millions of parents happy to let there little kids watch the show, and spend money on mercendise, parents make the money and spend it, not teenagers who wanna see big boobs, blood, and cursing, just watch the one on this website if its so bad, if it was on adult swim it would still be chopped down, bleach is still edited, thats just how the USA does

I haven't seen it, but I already hate VIZ Media for doing this to Shippuden. Cutie Jutsu? No blood? NO SWORD?! No references to death or violence? No. Shippuden will do worse than perish on DXD. It will murder every single fan's hopes and dreams of having a GOOD dub version of Shippuden on TV. I used to look forward to every Saturday for the new episode of Naruto. Now, that excitement is gone. I'd rather this be on at 10:00 PM on Adult Swim than Disney XD. At least it'd be good and actually on my channel list. I mean, come on! Who's even ever heard of DXD before this atrocity to mankind?!

Did anyone else realize they added groaning sounds in the background when they showed the Sand ninja that had obviously died???

Or the fact that they edited the word kill with destroy in episodes 1 and 2???

Really what pissed me off though was that they changed the closing animation; it was so good!!!

I was optimistic before, but my resolve is beginning to falter...

F--- you, Disney XD. They censored the Shippuden so much its truly sad. They didn't even show Sasuke pulling his sword out and stabbing Naruto. Which technically it doesn't show him stabbing him anyway but, they didn't even show the sword being pulled out with a stabbing sound. I will never watch the English Shippuden ever again if it stays on Disney XD.

I would like to take a moment and congratulate all the workers at Viz media. You have been sucessful in stabbing loyal Naruto fans in the eye with the long waiting period and have decided to twist the knife by turning the Shippuden series into a piece of kiddy crap. If airing a censored-to-hell version of Shippuden will make you think that DVD sales for the show will go up to see an uncut version, then the english dub of Naruto is dead to the fans who supported it before, now you can enjoy getting ratings from only little kids who have no idea what is going on in the show or the ever-growing darker plot. So on behalf of all your loyal fans give yourselves a pat on the back........COUGH!

I just watched the episodes and let me tell you up front my sheer discust at what happened to the Naruto epiusodes. They were dubbed to the point of stupidity! They blotched out the most useless parts!@ Disney went totally overboard. I mean the original Cartoon Network didn't even dub it this much. No sex references no refrences to killing! or blood at all! We can then say good bye to cussing, I am afraid to find out if Deidara even gets his arm ripped off! They don't show Deidara blowing up the sand ninja even though in the uncut version of that scene THERE IS NO BLOOD ANYWAY!!! They still skip the entire killing scene! I wonder if you people at Viz have any shame at all... or were there even any other offers besides Disney? I just feel bad is all, kids are going to have to buy all the episodes in order to actually enjoy the show in english... actually that is a fiendish marketing strategy.

UGHHH...i hate dubbies!!! there all like NEW NARUTO!!! and im like ive known about it for 3 years!...well the dub is ok but i wish it wasnt on Disney XD and on Adult Swim so it wouldnt be so childish, it should be on Cartoon Network at least....about all the kids at my school are like NARUTO IS FOR KIDS but i would be like NOT NARUTO SHIPPUDEN and now thats its on Disney XD, they definently (spelling) think its for kids...well im going to give the dub a chance but what is disney going to do when Hidan shows up

i don`t have that channel, poor me, but UNLIKE the rest of u i have already watched the 1st 13 episodes of naruto shippuden english dubbed from itunes, so this is just my way of saying that there is another way 2 watch them, ONLINE!! guess this is kind of my way of rubbing it in u`re faces but i don`t like being that mean so i gave u some advice, watch it online!! and i hope all u naruto fans have a great time watchin it on disneyxd!! oh and before i forget, if u watch the dubbed episodes online before it premires, then THAT version is probably the one u will see on disneyxd, but then again that would ruin the surprize, srry my bad:) i apologize!! good luck 2 all naruto fans, hope u like the 1st 4 dubbed episodes of naruto shippuden!!!:)

WOW! I could hardly make it through the first episode that was so BAD! The U.S. Television Vancouver premiere of Naruto Shippuden is gonnarock and I mean no cussing words in dubbed mode but cussing in subbedmode buy why Disney XD? it could be on Cartoon Network instead,inVancouver in Canada, it doesn't matter if Naruto Shippuden going onVancouver or Disney XD which is pretty ironic though:) and that theVancouver premiere.

I'm so excited! And I'm actually glad it isn't going to be onCartoonNetWork anymore(though I'm NOT happy about the Disneyarrangements..) because CartoonNetWork is airing some pretty horriblecartoons now that are crap and so unworth watching. Naruto deserves tobe on a better channel than that...But! I can't wait! :] I have missedthe characters of Naruto and can't wait to see them older and inenglish...

Adult Swim/Cartoon Network, believe it or not doesn't really likeanime. You people need to understand that this is a good move foranime & disney,viewers wise. Also Naruto is still lisensed & dubbed byViz Media. Disney is just showing it on their channel. To everyone asking for the curse words, *NO* Naruto Shippuden US-Dubwill *NOT* have any curse words (Mostly Hidan >_>), blood (If so,limited like Part 1), no alcohol/tobacco references (Asuma smoking,Sake appearances, etc.).

As for Sai-Naruto conversations that include adult/perverted humor, Iam really not sure about that, we'll just have to see.
(All of this is common-sense-confirmed because if you look at thechannel it's on, you should know.)

As for people wondering why it isn't on Sky TV (I think you'retalking about the British Channel?) I heard that it won't be on SkyTV, and probably won't be airing until later this year or Q1 2010. I'mnot positive about this, but Google it and you'll get the same resultsas I have.

I love Naruto but as of a anime fan and knowing the Disney channels. The show will not last that long because of all the constant that Disney will never allow. Also when these DVD go on sell, there will be an uncut version for the older fans. Parents will not want this show to be aired after they see the uncut shows. And there will be problems with the uncut show wont be on sale for the older fan. I think this is a wrong idea. I think the naruto perverted transformations will not be tolerated by families who don't want their kids to see that type of stuff.

Disney XD probably had quite a bit of fun editing on this show.

I don't think we'll see anyone bleeding, swearing, cursing, or any mature content of any other nature being aired.

Disney XD, I really hope you guys don't completely hack-up the show. I very much doubt many will like it if you did that. Well, the ratings will speak for themselves, and I'm sure the comments will too.

It would been better if it was aired on adult swim then Disney XD. That way most violence parts want be edited and swearing would be a tone down a bit. I'm disappointed
