Anyways, reasons. For me, it's because of how far they've come, how much Naruto truly loves Sakura for who she is, and because Sakura truly cares about Naruto (maybe not in a romantic sense at this point, but there's a lot of reasoning for that).
I could go into everything in massive detail, but I think that summarizing Naruto and Sakura's growth would do this effectively. If you need me to go into further detail, just point out where, and I'll fire away.

Naruto initially loved Sakura because she was a pretty girl, and Sakura didn't like him at all because he was annoying and got in the way of her love life. Well, throughout the manga, their perceptions of each other have constantly changed, even from that first chapter. Right off the bat, Naruto figured that he might get something out of Sakura if he henged into Sasuke. Well, it worked to an extent, but it didn't exactly work out the way he wanted it to.

Sakura did indeed like Naruto, but she was falling more in love with Sasuke because he had henged into him! However, Naruto gets to know who Sakura is. He states clearly that he "Finally understands why he likes her". From there on out, Naruto's feelings for Sakura are built on the fact that he loves Sakura for one reason alone: the fact that she is who she is. Sakura's personality, her goals, everything about her, Naruto likes her for who she is.

Sakura, however, continued to pursue Sasuke and was pretty shut out to Naruto for the most part for a while. Time went on, and Sakura started to notice Naruto more and more, and there's a lot of times in Part 1 that we could point out that she acknoledges Naruto, but that all comes down to friendship and being teammates. Sakura and Naruto had a friendship at that point, but Naruto's love was completely one-sided. When we got towards the end, Sakura turned to Naruto to bring Sasuke back, she had already admitted long before that she and Sasuke were far from close. This shows us how much trust she had begun to place in Naruto, who she was already a bit closer to than Sasuke. (Not by a lot at this point, but she actualy had acknowledgement of her skills from Naruto)

When we got to the end, Sakura was prepaired to let Naruto let go of the promise he had made, a promise that threw his feelings on the back-burner, I might add. Naruto refused, because the only thing he truly wanted was for Sakura to be happy. It doesn't deter from his wanting to be there for his best friend, but it adds to his detirmination to bring him back.

Come to Part 2, and they've spent so much time together, and Sakura truly does care about her friend, just as much as Naruto does for her (minus the obvious and undenyable romantic implications, of course, though I think that there are signs of it poping up here and there). Sakura has been shown to only want Naruto's happiness, and has never brought up the promise. Whenever the Sasuke subject comes up, she always links it to Naruto's bond with Sasuke. She wants to be there to help him when it comes to the promise, and so far, she seems to regret making it.

Anyhow, the gist of it is this: I love NaruSaku because of everything that goes into the relationship. It isn't just about asthetic, probability of it becoming cannon, or wanting Naruto to wn her as a trophy. It isn't because it's Main X Main, it isn't because it is destined to be, it isn't anything like that at all. I love NaruSaku because I feel that the relationship itself is sound and healthy, not perfect, but there is no such thing as perfect when it comes to relationships. It isn't fake, it isn't a storybook romance either. It isn't one-sided (Okay, that's pushing it, but it certainly has a strong background compaired to any other options). It is selfless, it is about caring for the other person. I know a lot of people tie their relationship to being Sasuke-centric, but their relationship itself is not. It is the Promise of a Lifetime, which was made for Sakura's sake alone, that causes this confusion. Sakura wanted to be there with Naruto next time around because she wanted to help HIM. People act like the goal is the key, but it never is. It's all about where a person's heart is. Naruto's heart was to do it for Sakura, and Sakura's heart was to do so for Naruto, it has been for a long time now. Maybe that is just the way I'm picking up on things because of my outlook on life, but how you do something means just as much as what you do.

So yes, that is why I love NaruSaku, hope that didn't bore you too much, lol.

ok, so here is how i took on the narusaku thing ^^

naruto had always liked sakura,but he never knew her since he was a outcast and too busy praning people. as his fellow buddies like choji and shikamaru became more concerned with being ninja, he was left alone. flash forward to when he becomes a genin, he liked her, but hey she was pretty thats it. in episde 2 however is when i first liked the pair, although i didnt know the acronym, i just wanted the main guy to get the girl... time passes and i see nothing special, she would play around and hit him, or pinch his cheeks, as a sign of freindship, so im like wow ^^. at first he was a nuisance now she accepts him. the chunin exams arrive, and it goes completly sasusasku and im not crushed, but it pretty much fades away as i get into the orochimaru fights and junk. it stays neutral for weeks, as we see sakura stay cold to him, even when he beats neji, a feat that no other genin, arguably even sauke couldnt, then flash to the gaara incident. that was the first real sign of naruto caring for sakura more than just the pretty girl,and jumps on the shakkakus head. we later on find the tension of sasuke and naruto, and there goes sasusaku, which i was happy,and a bonus came when sakura looked at the dewby naruto trying to do chidori ugh...lol she acknowlegdes him, which is a huge step in some way.

it dies there as sakura becomes more concerned for sasuke, and here comes the famous hospital scence, t me anyways when sakura huged sasuke and naruto got sad.. :P that was a clincher to me.now here comes poal, a awsome moment where naruto shows how dedicated to sakuras happiness. lol i know its also for him but hes determined to do it for sakuras sake. and at the expense of his own.

the next moment is when she finally sheds a tear for him at orochimarus now abandoned hideout when they were halpin saseme. she crys because she thinks he died becuase the the chakra thread jutsu that connected thier hearts.
nothing goes on, for a lonnnnnggggg time since sakura is too busy with her training and naruto is too busy being away from the village, so in a sense they are separated for weeks at a time.

now we get to the homecoming, when he returns and find "sakura fishing" for complements lol grape fruit ^^ but i take it as flirting. they fight kakashi and she accepts a real date, but is shot down since he cant pay for her. lol ^^
we then go to the gaara moments were sakura calms him down with a touch to his cheek ^^ and how her bond grows for him as she starts to feel more concerned for him as she knows what he really is,but never spoke up about.
* note ill take the alternate route as well, she was terrifed for him, like how tsunade felt everytime jaraiya left the village again.....*

we then come up to the four tails incident, and she tells him to NOtgo after sasuke, out of concern for him, but never repaeats herself since she knows hell be stubborn and crushed. i agree with twilight that she never tells him to back off, becuse she wants to do it together.

theres a drought and nothing happens that is significant except for a few filler moments(which i account for since they are part of the anime plot)
ugh, may brain hurts so ill wrap this up with the sai confession, which means if its obvious to a emotinal retard like him then its pretty obvious to us. the yamamoto observation, and the post dediera fight questioning of kakshis helper dogs.
there is also to account for the manga events i have learned of such as hinata confession and how naruto goes to sakura and gets a biggg hug.(lol not becuase of sasuke grapefruit ^^) he also doesnt return hinatas feelings and plus, sakura has accepted that naruto loves her, states it as him being a fool for that, so im assuming they are on the right track.

guys and gals, what clinches it for me is that hinata confessed, and he still goes to sakura. plus im happy hinata is a pathetic girl like some supporters may rgue becuase naruto didnt return her feelings

I can be as unbiased as possible, and still believe that Sakura doesn't have a crush on Sasuke. All hints that she does have been pretty damn ambiguous, never a direct "I'm obviously still in love with Sasuke moment", no matter how fans want to interpret it. On the other hand, however, since there's no evidence against it, I'll have to remain neutral.

The only hint that I can honestly think of in Part II is when Karui asked Sakura what Sasuke meant to her, and she started crying. This can be interpreted as one of two ways:

1. She was crying because she misses Sasuke

2. She was crying because she was unsure. "I...I..." (Don't know)?

The first one doesn't really make sense, because if she was crying because she missed Sasuke and still loved him, she would have started crying at the first mention of him, when Karui and Omoi where threatening to kill him, not when she asked a simple question.

Hm.... Simple question. That question, "what does Sasuke mean to you?" should have been easy to answer, right? If Sakura was as smitten with Sasuke as she was in Part I, wouldn't she have just screamed "I love Sasuke-kun!!" without a moment's hesitation? Instead, she just said "I...I..." and started crying. That is not exactly a "yes."

That is true, but the problem with NaruHina is that Naruto has never shown any interest in Hinata, even after her confession. As a matter of fact, we haven't seen Hinata since chapter 450, which was when Sakura hugged Naruto, something she smiled at. It is my opinion that if NaruHina were to have become cannon because of the confession, this plot piece would have had to be addressed within chapters, during the down-time Kohona had.

However, Kishimoto did not, he chose to focus on Naruto and Sakura's bond. It's been around 30 chapters (give or take) since the confession, and there has been nothing to hint at something comming from that event. Because of that, I'd say that NaruHina is dead in the water, and that that confession was for Hinata's development

I honestly don't see why Hinata's happiness is more important than Naruto's. Naruto loves Sakura as well, and deserves recognition (which I think he is finally getting) just as much as Hinata does. I'm also positive, without a shadow of doubt, that Naruto would die for Sakura, and she would do the same for him.

I understand you want Hinata to be appreciated and rewarded for her feat, but judging by her smile at Naruto and Sakura's hug, she's okay with him being with Sakura. She wants him to be happy, right? That's bascially what you said anyways. So there it is.

Anime and manga are full of unrequited love - It's something we all should get used to. But what makes NaruSaku different is the development it's gotten and the fact that it's a very unselfish love - On both sides.

Yes, Hinata is unselfish, and Naruto is as well, but, well... There's been no (reasonable) evidence that Naruto likes Hinata as much as he does Sakura. He may appreciate her, but a confession won't make him love her.

Firts Point; NaruSaku is cliche

People fail to understand what cliche truly means. "Cliche" is taking the same theme, and beating it to death, again and again and again. Using the same trite and overused plot devices time after time. True, there are many "TsunDere" themes in anime and manga, and Sakura's attitude towards Naruto is seen a lot in such manga.

But what sets NaruSaku apart is the fact that instead of blindly pursuing the girl he wants, Naruto holds back, because his love is that deep, rather than the shallow "just get the girl theme."

The same goes for Sakura. She's the epitome of tsundere in the Naruto series, but something sets her apart, too. She's shown remorse for her actions towards naruto, since, well... Chapter 3. Their love is unselfish and real. No where in any other traditional manga have I seen such selflessness between a character who was in love with another.

So, no, NaruSaku is not cliche.

Second Point; NaruSaku is a brother/sister relationship.

This argument is so abused and trite I hate even talking about it. But all points must be covered.

Naruto has shown non-platonic affection towards Sakura multiple times. The look he had on his face when she first smashed the ground in the Bell Test and when she was healing Kankurou was not a look one would give his sister, or anyone he thought of as a sister. It was amazement.

When Sakura smashed the ground, he was looking on with awe, eyes filled with such an intense passion that I was surprised. Call it what you will, but I've never seen him look like that at anyone else, or in any other situation.

As well as that, when she was healing Kankurou, Naruto was blushing; It's not often that he blushes.

And no, it wasn't dirt on his face.

Adding on to that... Sakura is obviously curious as to what Naruto thinks of her appearance, as she wouldn't have asked him "Do I look more womanly?" if she weren't. Also, when she offered to feed him his ramen, you may have noticed her (rape face) flirtatious expression. That is certainly not a look I would ever give my brother.

Third point; Their relationship revolves around Sasuke and Sakura isn't the same around Sasuke

These two, I believe, go hand in hand.

It is true that perhaps Sasuke has had some part in bringing Naruto and Sakura closer, but was it Sasuke who told Sakura to be nicer to Naruto in chapter 3, hug Naruto, or told her to train to become a medic-nin? No. She did all that of her own volition.

I can't mention all that without mentioning this;

Sakura really isn't herself around Sasuke. During the Chunin Exams, when Sasuke was off with Kakashi, Sakura showed full support to Naruto, and her true self came out. When she is around Sasuke, she holds back, and this might be where Inner Sakura comes from, a manifestation of the things she wants to say, but is afraid to. You may have noticed that Inner Sakura hasn't had any screentime at all in Naruto lately, and her appearance was even less after Shippuden. My guess?

It's because Sasuke isn't around.

There are many other arguments, ones I don't care to adress for the simple fact that they are just too stupid to bother with.
